There are only so many hours in a day, right?
“So how do you run this park all by yourself?”
This is a question I recently asked an owner of an RV park, who is the ONLY person running it. (Full Disclosure: for a while a few years ago, she did have some help, but they eventually moved on, and she went back to square one running it herself.)
Her park is doing great, in terms of income, and she seems confident in operating it on her own.
She has maintained it well and has even made significant improvements over the past decade. She seems to cope well, although she admitted at some point in the near future it will be up for sale. “Life is too short, and you have to reap your rewards and move on!”
But until you sell and pull out of the driveway, you have a 24/7 commitment, because you have to be there to greet the guests, maintain anything in the park that needs attention, and take on whatever each day brings! And she does just that.
Her online reviews show that her guests love the park and her very welcoming style…maybe that is why the park does well. It’s not just the excellent condition of the park, or it’s great location. It’s the gracious owner. So, future park owners, remember, it’s a big commitment, personally and financially, but if you do it right, you will someday sell your RV Park and walk away with a nice financial reward.
